The Ranges*

As this site will also cover known exercises that happen on the main Ranges in Pembrokeshire, we have provided links to allow you to keep in the know on what is going on.

As you may be aware there is the largely active ADRM ( Air Defence Range ) of Manorbier. This tends to be active all year round and attracts lots of exercises due to its sheer size and the fact it has lots of space for the services to “play” More information on the Manorbier Range can be seen here.

Castlemartin is also one of the other main ranges here in Pembrokeshire that also experiences all year round activity. Again, Castlemartin attracts aircraft exercises and firing the same as Manorbier but Castlemartin does have lots of troop activity on its grounds. More information on Castlemartin can be seen here.

Pembrokeshire does have smaller ranges that do also still see activity but are more troop based with artilery exercises. If you wish to view their pages they can be seen by clicking the names below:

Castlemartin

Unscheduled firing may take place on Castlemartin Range, more daily info can be found by ringing 01646 662 367 after 1630 hours, for the following days Intentions.

RED FLAGS will fly when the ranges are active and RED LIGHTS by night.

DO NOT TOUCH any unfamiliar object found on the Range, Beach or in the Sea.

Up to date info on the range can be gathered by contacting 01834 870 098 ( Pre Recorded Message ). Helpdesk is available during normal office hours on 01834 871 282.

When the Range is active, practice and Exercise Area (PEXA) Warning Broadcasts for Manorbier Range will be given, either by the Range Authority or a Range Safety Vessel, on VHF Channels 16 and 73 at 08:30hrs and 14:30hrs, and at the end of each day’s activity.
