A 41 year old shore angler sustained a suspected fractured ankle after falling over his rods and rod rest while fishing from the beach at Broadhave, Bosheston, near Pembroke last Wednesday (25thAug).
He had intended fishing through the night when the incident occured around midnight. His companion was unpertured as they both thought he had severely sprained his ankle.
He managed to crawl and hobbile his way to the lee of the cliff on the south side of the beach where his wide found him when she arrived to pick him up mid-morning as agreed.
She immediately contacted the ambulance service for assistanec, who inturn requested coastguard help to support their rapid response vehicle and the air ambulance.
The man was airlifted to Withybush Hospital in Haverfordwest.
