The BPPA Flying event this weekend was a fantastic hit, with unconfirmed movements across Saturday and Sunday pushing the 70 mark. Not including any circuits etc by flying school aircraft.
As per usual there was some extremely nice visitors to the field including the N7600E Bellanca Cruisemaster and also the DA42 TwinStar that we were informed was operating on a WhiteKnight Callsign.
Amongst the nice vistiors was the usual nice tin mix of Cessna’s Pipers etc and along with the stunning flying and precision landings the weather helped draw in spectators along with other aircraft, some of which not aware of the flying event at the field. Many comments were made to some of the team both young and old that the event was a great turn out and highly successful and I personally hope it comes back again in 2011, which I have no doubt that It will. It is a great benefit and public intrest to the airport and helps raise their profile around the area. We have had comments from people wondering why there was so many planes around and what the occasion was. This just going to prove that even people not interested in aviation took an interest and one or two did actually head to the airport to see what was what.
If you are interested and not already had time to see some of the pictures follow this link and enjoy. Well done to all those that took part and the fantastic effort by all those at the airport.. Here’s to the countdown for 2011
